I am looking for a nice but not too expensive language course in Spain, preferrably on the coast and ideally in Barcelona. I have found plenty of schools that claim to be the best but not sure how to pick the right one… Has anybody been there? Any recommendations?

Go to Sitges, just down the coast from Barcelona.
There are all prices of hotels, the resort is small and old fashioned with great clothes and shoe shops, and great beachesl
It has the advantage of being near Barcelona which is well worth a visit.

Torrevieja is good for beaches – just a little south of Alicante – main beaches are, Playa de Locos, Playa de Cura, but there are numerous other beaches. There’s a lovely long beach at Guardarmar del Segura and similarly one at La Mata – both beaches are well served with beach cafes etc…..but are not, to the best of my knowledge, rowdy or likely to be anything like Benidorm is reputed to be !
I regularly visit Torrevieja and can vouch for the two main beaches there.
